Now all you here is people talking about how instant reverse is great and how they can, "do this" and "do that". Explain to me how a prop going in the direction it was meant to go, doesn't bite harder in mud and vegitation than a prop going in the opposite direction??? They also say it digs deeper too. Which in turn is also pulling your boat down and making the transom area drag more surface area. Where as the PD is lifting the rear throwing water under the boat and allowing less friction to move. Seriously, how is there a comparison with the two?

I have seen em. There is no comparision. GT and PD are great mud motors. It's just in what the customer wants. My best friend has a GTR. It is sweet! It's not FPR though.

Another pissing contest. It's like Ford or chevy... Buy what you want we all know how they work, so get what works best for your area.

instant makes it so much nicer in the mud to get out so much faster.

but its a pissing match thats all, bc running gt vs pd is two different ways completely.

food for thought, yes a gt can dig down deeper in reverse but forward prodrive will dig deeper sometimes it makes a difference sometimes it screws you.

I've got reverse but I do not see a need for it,reverse is way over rated from what I have read.

When you really need reverse there is only 1, FPR. However instant would be really nice to have for fishing and frogging.

I see they actually have good responses and the typical people who post BS. 6 one way half a dozen the other. It would be nice to have both. Compromise is the name of the game in EVERYTHING we do.

Agreed, I have friends that have GT I'm not knocking them one bit, great motors, great service, etc. It just seems to me when I'm trying to get out of being stuck.. As they say, " I WANT EVERYTHING WORKING WITH ME; NOT AGAINST ME."

Just inquiring minds that's all. I've clocked my boat in reverse and it runs about 7mph. That's enough momentum to move your ares in some sheet to dig yourself out fast.

Well what yall are calling mud is mostly water mixed. Take out 90% of the water and leave just the mud then fpr is dead!! Blow a hole in forward blow a hole in reverse and all is left is a stuck fork in a 4 feet round hole!! Getting where i'm going. Gt reverse sucks in and pushes the mud in and out making it a ditch instesd of a hole.. Any time you think the gt reverse won't perform feel free to give a call and we can hook it up. Now on pd side get stuck in some lillies and the fpr is nice to pull your azz back out.

If you think cause you have fpr that you are going twice as many places than a gt your wrong!!!

Personal preference and hunting conditions... They are both great motors and you can't go wrong with either one.

FPR will go thru a little bit more shit in reverse than instant reverse, But da places I like to get stuck it wouldn't help me any. Instant serves me personally better because of da convienance when froggin and everyday use

I like my FPR. Im not saying that one is better than the other. I am saying that they both have their place and purpose.

I have been in places where I wonder if a GT would be better. I have also been in a situation that I know I could have backed out when I was in a GT that wouldnt.

Its more about what ya want and what you feel better driving.

Delta, Your motors modded stage 2 or better, there compairing apples to apples.

My GTR suits my needs for being able to drive/reverse like an outboard when fishing and bowfishing. The instant reverse gets me out of some bad spots when duckhunting and scouting when I need it, but I ain't trying crazy $hit like some of ya'll wide open mo'fo's.
