Where to get a Bimini top
I have a 1852 Phowler and looking to get a Bimini top for it to have some shade. Even the Hydroturf gets roasting just sitting out in the sun and I would like to try some summer fishing with the boat. I saw some guys on here had installed ones about 8 foot long and there used to be some pictures but I can't find them. Anyone know of a good site to pick one up at? I have been looking around and can't seem to find a decent brand for less than $500-$600 and I swear I saw pics of some on here that looked pretty good in basic black for about $300-400. Thanks for any info.

Walmart - $3.00 tarp and $5.00 worth of steel electrical conduit....
Primative but functional and works even running 30 mph...

Re: Where to get a Bimini top
Couple of things to consider. I got mine just high enough for me to walk under but you need a long one to get any shade before or after noon. If I got another I'd probably get it a foot shorter in height for some extra coverage. I went with aluminum with nylon fittings instead of SS due to the money. Think I ordered it from Iboats.

Re: Where to get a Bimini top
I've been planning on doing something like this. Seems easy and way better coverage than a bimini.

Re: Where to get a Bimini top
Anybody have something like an oversized t top on theirs? I was considering something that would simply slide into the catwalks and be easily removable, but more sturdy. Maybe attach some rod holders and lights to it.

12" just enough to put the lights under me, I don't like rails or anything that the line can catch on. All edges are smoothed to prevent cuts. Here's the thread where I built the platform. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=28503

Re: Where to get a Bimini top
How does it attach? I was wanting to go ab as tall as I can for sight fishing so I was figuring ab 12"-24" and still be able to run my trolling motor was gonna try make it where I left it mounted to boat and just move my pedal

Re: Where to get a Bimini top
After seeing the pics, I am rethinking the bimini idea. I have spud holes front and rear and may try to rig a pole in each and stretch a piece of canvas between front and rear. iboats.com has better prices but still over 500 bucks for an 8 foot bimini top. I saw some patio umbrellas on sale the other day and may just temporarily stick one in a spud hole front and rear!

Will, I was just looking on Iboats, did you use the Jon boat layout or the flats layout?

I folded mine to the front. It lined up perfectly to the edge of the extended deck.

That answers my question. If I may ask, where and how much? This is exactly what I want.
