I just got my new reverse housing in from gator tail.. I was wondering if any one could steer me in the right direction to changing the housing. I have the entire new unit with the main bolt. Any advice on how to remove the old reverse and put on the new unit?

Take the reverse cover off, then remove the brake caliper, then there is 2 screws in the reverse housing to drain the oil out of it. Then remove the center bolt with an impact, then carefully remove the magnatized shaft off of the crank shaft (there is a cotter key inside of it becareful not to drop in in the belt housing). Then remove the brake disc with the planetary gears attached. There will be some black allen screws holding the reverse housing to the gear, undo those allen screw and remove the housing.

It's not hard but I would have to see what parts you have to help you

grab that big piece there in the center and pull it out then you will see the allen screws

Make sure to drain the fluid and watch for the small key in shaft!

put some rags on housing so you don't drop shit in it!

Take the caliper loose!You don't need to remove the rotor from trans.

It worked lol

I wanted you to leve the disc on so you had something to grab to pull it out. lol

Lol got that figured out everything is off now gotta find my 4.5 Allen key.. shoot me lol

Just make sure you leave one of those oils drain screws out when you slide the reverse back on

One of the inner Allen bolts stripped... one of those days.. ideas?

Slow down bro. O your fucked lol

CAREFULLY drill out the head until it's just the stud left, then use a vise grip to remove the stud after taking off the outer gear

Try using a torx bit. I've had Allen heads strip and that usually does it

That's what i was thinking but wanted to get the okay on that haha.. It stripped with a screwdriver.. I guess im alot stronger than i thought or it was a weak screw. Last one too.. I'm gonna take this as a sign to quit for today and start again tomorrow. Thanks again fellas

Torx bit or tap an Allen wrench one size bigger than the stripped one into the head.

take it to calen

New I just called Hoyt and he sent me the entire reverse housing so I don't have to fool with the seal. Got some easy out bits dirty gonna give them a shot when I get back to Columbia. In better news 8 new 27 watt LEDs showed up and already got that prewired ready to mount!

You can alway knock a flat head screw driver in to it and get it out
