Very nice boat,,,side console offers much more room! A fishing machine!

Motor is nice, prop is huge! You can tell by just looking at the clutch its much bigger! New skeg is nice, no more round bar and better angle! And reverse is much faster.... Engine is typical briggs,,,leaking valves, wont idle for shit. It will have to be brought in. Looks like new lower unit will turn this prop ~400 rpm more than older one...

Boat is 18x54 will full welded double bottom.

I see why you would want to know but then I don't. With a truck you have more than one option with gears so it matters. With the prodrive you have only one option so it doesn't matter.

If your getting more rpms at the prop , that can only mean a higher gear ratio. The old 2G 1.5 @ 4350 engine rpms would give you roughly 2900 prop rpms. So if your gaining 400 prop rpms, that would put you real close to a 1.3 to 1 ratio @ 4350 rpms. If I'm understanding the 400+ rpms correctly.

I think ur right, less rpms at the wheel would b higher than 1.5 but more torque

Looks like the cav plate it much higher also. Who built the boat? If its ProDrive I'm surprised to see they are finally getting away from that old layout a little. That's one of the main reasons I didn't get a PD boat is because I wanted the full floor.

After heads done, boat runs 26-27 with me 215, and owner 190 and 12 gals gas. Pretty much empty boat....

In deep water 26=27mph at 4550rpm. The new gear is like a tractor in lillies, you cant bog it down.

From idle ~800rpm, puch it with both of us and it flashes to almost 4000 and jumps on step similar to a 40 outboard.

Looks like new lower unit will be approx 1mph slower than the old unit, but hands down its much better on the bottom end and in lillies/grass. After you will not be able to do much more then heads/carb or heads/cam without easily being all over the limiter.

How about this. I'll hold the throttle at 4350 and y'all can count how many times the prop spins

it is 2 to 1....

hope he means just the valves reset or new stock heads...

I have a report of 34mph for a new style lower unit and EFI

I don't think speed is what PD had in mind when designing the new lower unit.

I'm sure bottom end/load carrying and gear longevity were the greatest factors.
