 Prodrive Lower Unit Removal
Hey guys - I need some help with dropping the lower unit on my 09 Prodrive. I want to take it out and give everything a good cleaning and remove all the gunk before the start of duck season but I don't know where to start. I have searched all over but can't find any write ups or photos on the removal process. Any guidance you could give me would be much appreciated. Step by step pictures would be even more appreciated.
I am pretty mechanical but when it comes to these motors I am still pretty green.
Also, should I order new bushings/seals before I tear into it and just replace everything while I am in there or can I just take it out give it a good once over and put everything back. I don't have any leaking issues yet...

 Re: Prodrive Lower Unit Removal
Just to clarify, as I understand it, the engine/clutch/spline coupler comes off as one piece with a plate of metal sandwhiched in the middle. Just unbolt the big 4 bolts holding the engine to the frame and anything else holding it down and it alls pulls off. Sometimes takes some persuasion. I have never done this but I have talked to kp on the phone with it. Just call pro drive and ask for pech. He will explain it thoroughly very quickly.

 Re: Prodrive Lower Unit Removal
You don't have to pull the coupler off the clutch to drop the LU, I just threw those pics up there as well. The LU will literally fall out when you get the last bolt out, have something under it....Have fun and prepare to get a little grease on you! hahaha

 Re: Prodrive Lower Unit Removal
Tighten down on the tension knob and it wont fall out when you undo the 6 bolts.
