Not a mud motor, but I'm sure you guys can help.
So i had the opportunity to purchase the first boat i ever went duck hunting in (when i was 8) for a price i couldn't turn down. Its got a 1979 (i think) 25hp Merc tiller on it and i plan on using it mostly for fishing during the summer, but will probably hunt out of it here and there. I have not run a boat without a mud motor in a few years so I'm worried about forgetting my limitations. Any ideas on a good way to protect the skeg and prop without loosing too much performance? I plan on jacking the motor up on the transom a few inches for a little better clearance/performance. I haven't seen this boat in years and won't have it for a few weeks, so if you need pictures it will have to wait till then. Thanks

Get a jack plate with a 4-6" offset, & a stainless prop.

Lol... No. I'm excited this little thing should be a rocket compared to the lt I'm used to. But i have a feeling I'll be posting in the stuck thread. There's a long run on the river by me thats too long with the lt so I've never done it, but will probably try with this thing in a few weeks.
