I bet Boat100 bought that special edition GTR with electric reverse and added it to his collection, sitting right next to the allison which is right by the Bullet with the 500 HP inboard with a 4 blade cleaver. Single Life stopped by in his 89 model F250 and they are putting a Single Life Wrap on it right now

My question is when will gatortail start using the robin 38-40 hp efi engine. They have already gotten their hulls coast guard approved for 38hp according to some pics of the tag some of y'all have posted

Maybe Gatortail feels like they have to come out with something new, since one of their dealers said and I quote "If you have a shallow water application, Pro Drive is what you need". Gatortail police needs to do some investigating.

Gator Tail is always making changes for the best, they are like cell phones, you buy the latest and greatest and 3 months later there is a better one. Because they do their own R&D

That's the exact reason I went to gt from mb. I couldn't ask for any better service!! It was a surprise to me that I could call them and talk to them and not have to wait 3 or 4 days!!!

I know that I'm reviving an old thread here, but am I correct in that Gator-Tail now has some sort of electric reverse for use in boats with consoles? Does anyone know if this involves the addition of a hydraulic pump or if it eliminates the hydraulic component altogether with something like another magnetic clutch or electric caliper?

If this is out there, why couldn't the same feature be offered on tiller models? I assume that safety is a concern with having the reverse locked on, but it seems that a push button momentary switch would allow the electric system to function just as the hydraulic lever does (push/squeeze = engaged; let go = disengaged). It could also be easily wired to prevent its engagement unless in neutral.
An on-off-on momentary switch rigged to a larger ergonomic lever could even function like the mercury tiller shifter. What am I missing? I apologize if this has already been beat to death.

Yes it's electric on console boats but currently not available on tiller models for the public yet. The electric version has another electromagnetic clutch on the rear instead of a brake disc and caliper there's a pic or two floating around the site somewhere of it on a console
