I am new to mud motoring and will use my motor only in shallow rocky rivers in N.C. mostly the peedee river. My question is what is the best rock guard anyone has come across. i run a 16hp GD. The one on their website looks pretty wimpy. Btw i have fabricated one out off 1/8 stainless but am not sure of the correct angle to mount. Do you want it paralelled with the cavitation plate? Thanks....

I'm pretty confident the one's they make is at least 1/8", too. I am willing to bet they are mild steel which would be better than stainless steel in this application as stainless is more brittle. just my 2 cents.
