Ronnie, I did not hear the phone ring from you today with the same question that you posted above. Why is that? Business needs to be made public for some reason? Call me NOW, I am still at the shop for a few. Give me a fax number and I will fax you proof that your refund was transacted EXACTLY when I told you it was and exactly how it was in the PM I sent you and the email I sent you and the voicemail I left for you. Take that to your bank and ask them why you do not have the money. The money was took out of our account the same day. I checked on it as I knew this was going to be a problem with the previous history we have had with your banks gateway. As I said in the PM and email I sent you, it took 4 days for your bank to give us the moeny to start with.

The last time I heard from you was monday Sheldon. And I have emailed and PMed you since with no response. Yesturday as a matter of fact. Public seems to be the only way I can get a repsonse. You would be a little concerned if the shoe was on the other foot and we were entering week 6 of dealings. So my bank had the money and never put it in my account? Like I said, tell me who you talked to and I'll call them to find out what the deal is. If you sent it I still haven't received it a week after your voicemail, thats a fact.

That is not a fact. You emailed and PM'd me to tell me that you got my messages.
Like I said, we did what we said. I can fax you proof of that so you can ask your bank. Check in the AM and if there is anything we can do, CALL here instead of letting another day go by. Call them and ask them if it is in the system or pending. It is gone from here and out of our hands but I can call and check or chase for you.

Thanks

I misunderstood your post. You emailed me to let me know that you recieved the information as to what we did. No need to reply.
Like I said. We did exactly what we said. Check with your bank in the AM. If you would call me, I would give you all the numbers to give your bank girl to check on your deal.
By the way, I am here every day and the phone works here. If I am not here, I return phone calls. That is what I am doing now.

Gecker, could you tell me how the exhaust attaches to the 35 MB sport frame? Thinking of ordering the exhaust, but I don't want to be drilling holes my my belt housing.

A long thread with little information could someone just fill in the blanks.

I ran the stock carb at ____ RPM and ____ speed.

I replaced my stock carb (and nothing else) with a Gecker Stage 2 and now I run ____ RPM and ____ speed in the same conditions as the stock baseline.

If you changed cam, did headwork, added steel flex, or an exhaust with the carb then you changed other variables.

Poker - You need to be a little more patient with bank transactions. Monday was a holiday and everything is seems to be slow this week. I made a teller deposit at my usual bank last Friday. It did not even show up as pending until yesterday much less cleared. Holidays seem to mess up a lot of things.

Now phone calls and correspondance with a customer are another issue. I don't know the facts so no reason to comment.

Gecker - I would make it a habit to fax/email/passenger pigeon copies of things like refunds, returns, etc. to the customer when you do it. It will avoid confusion, create a papertrail and keep both the patient & inpatient mudmotor junkies(everyone on MMT) off of your back. This should give you more time to concentrate on your business and less time spent on paperwork.

anotherred,
On that exhaust, you have 2 options-Drill and tap or use the optional clamp. You will absolutely love it when you get it.
Wilson,
Thanks. We try to keep a paper trail. It turns into a lot of paper!

Thanks

Post Re: Modded B&S Carb From Gecker
Got the carb earlier this week... Correct carb no problems there.

I swapped the carbs out yesterday. With the stock carb I was turning 3790 RPM @ 26.9 to 27.5 MPH.

I'm at a total loss... I've swapped the carb now 3 times changed linkages and butterflies on the carbs and trying different things in order to fix the issue I'm now having...

Here's what I have found.... The new carb and stock carb side by side the modified carbs butterflies are restricted somehow meaning it takes a great deal of pressure in order to open them up where as the stock carb the butterflies open and shut (using the linkage) very easily & quickly.

I'm thinking that is the issue now...

When I installed the new carb my idle went up to 1700 RPM's... I dialed that down. It would turn ~4000 out of the water bumping the governor etc...

However once under load (in water) I can't turn over 3100 RPM! But.... I'm making 26MPH at that 3100 RPM! So I'm thinking if I can get the extra 800-900 RPM's I'd be cruising a lot faster... Started to wonder if its not opening up all the way...

I looked where the linkage slides into and where the butterflies sit on inside the carb seems there might be a burr in there I have no clue... I just know the butterflies aren't as smooth as my stock and this is the only one of the two I have now that does this.

I'm going to talk to Gecker Monday hopefully I can get another one I'm not sure how the butterflies got all sticky and restrictive but I'm thinking that's the reason why.

I ran the boat the day before I swapped the carb and ran the above mentioned numbers...

Try swapping the throttle shaft out with the one in your carb and see if it smoothes out .

Put the stock carb back on today and ran it, I was back to my stock numbers so I know I didn't bend any of the linkage. I'm pretty sure the butterflies weren't opening up all the way b/c it was sticking.

You think there is a burr in there or something?? Can you see anything??

What has Sheldon said about this?

It sounds like it would be a runner if you could get it to open all the way.

I know I'm not performing right but I wasn't about to start tinkering with the carb... These were baseline stock numbers vs. swap...

I need to shim my motor the belt is a little loose there are a few things that I know I need to take care of.

Just talked to Sheldon, he's sending me another one tomorrow should have it by Wednesday for hopefully a test that evening but with work not sure if I'm going to be able to. I'll dial in the stock carb again and reset governor for another test run tomorrow.

To turn higher RPM's... You turn the screw by the exhaust to the right correct? Near where the throttle cable hooks up correct?

Bend the little tab that the idle tension spring connects to.

First make sure your idle set screw is backed out all the way. Standing at the back of the engine, look for the little spring farthest to the left. You will see a little tab that the spring connects to (on right side of spring looking from the back). Start the engine and try bending the tab with a pair of pliers in either direction to see if this helps. Once your idle is lowered, you can then readjust it with the idle set screw on the front of the engine.

man I wish someone would get some real honest to goodness stats on this thing up. If they sold 90+ this last month then someone must have run it by now or there is a whole pile of problems we arent hearing about.......

If I could just validate the proformance of this thing id be on the phone ordering one tomorrow.

I have the gecker carb and his muffler that I just put on my PD 36. It runs great in the driveway turning 4250 in the driveway. :D It is loud, but Sheldon is going to put is going to make some 90 degree pipes to try to funnel the sound out the back more so it will not be so loud in the boat. I'm going to run tomorrow.

Ran last with a friend (200), a very fat lab (at least 100), a rat terrior (40), and my fat a** (300), 24.8 MPH, @ 3900 RPM. We'll see what it will do tomorrow. My boat is a 1852 Phowler V.

Sheldon, I called the other day to talk to you about this, you never called back. I'm sure you're busy, and can't return all the calls you get. I see all this ending poorly for you if you don't get someone really soon that is competent to do a side-by-side analysis and post up some realistic, real world numbers that folks can look at.
