 16 gdlt mods
Just bought a 16 GDLT (first mud motor) and i was wondering if there was an aftermarket exhaust I could put on her. The stock one looks to be fine and isnt too rusted, just wondering if they made performance exhausts for smaller motors as well. Also, does anyone know the average cost of seals? The seller said it was losing about a quarter sized blob of grease after a day of runnin (how long a day is i dont know). Is that somethin to worry about now or can i get by with greasin it regularly. My shop has a machine shop inside and i think i can probably make the bushings out of brass/ bronze. Any information would be helpful.
Thanks. Josh

 Re: 16 gdlt mods
I also have a 16hp GDLT that I recently purchased, and have also been looking for mods. I have not yet found any packages or anything, everything seems to be custom made. I know there are a few different cams and some internal mods that can be done, but most of what is available is for cart racers. I also lose about the same amount of grease after several hours of running the motor and it seems to be fine, I just top her off before every trip and if its a long ride, like several hours I bring the grease gun along and add a bit more. BTW what kinda speeds and boat are you running?

 Re: 16 gdlt mods
Im runnin a 15ft duracraft semi-v. its definitely not the ideal mud motor boat but it will have to do for the time being...Im redoin my 1969 skeeter hawk 13ft right now, shes super low profile and stable as a rock. As far as speeds go, im takin her out tonight for the first time. so il post speeds if i can get a gps. But i know the props worn pretty bad so im not expecting too much
