Just my thoughts on a first impression failure analysis...

Would be interesting to find out a timeline on each one to know which one was built/bought/broken first between the two.

One of two things happening here with the top photo. The reinforcment plate welded to it was either:
a. A repair to fix something that had already broken there.
b. A preventative alteration post fab or during initial fab to prevent what somebody already knew was happening at this location. If this was the case, stresses transferred to the next weekest point. <---my thought.

The bottom photo was a motor that did not get an original fab/retro-reinforcement plate added to protect from breaking where all the others may have been breaking. Hence, it broke.

Either way, it seems obvious that somebody knew there was a problem at this location. From that point, MB should have done a total recall to remedy all motors. That is a safety issue, beyond a doubt and should warrant a recall.

Before they started putting these things out on the market, they should have given about 20 of them to "real" end users to demo for about a year before putting a finished product out for end users to put themselves at risk. That's just screaming liability law suit....oh snap....dguidry probably heard that. Especially if MB knew something was wrong and did not take action to correct the problem on all the motors already delivered.

That's like one of the auto manufacturers putting a truck on the road that the steering wheels fall off and not recalling it. It's like saying its not serious because you have brakes compared to the kill switch. That's a serious lawsuit waiting to happen.

What I find most interesting about MB and MB owners...they already had a decent motor set up and loyal owner base. If they would have just copied GTR's design the rest of the way, they could have had a motor with reverse and kept a faithful following.

Instead, they are shooting themselves in the foot so bad right now with these problems even their loyal owners are beginning to shun them. Loyal MB owners have gone out, put deposits down and either:
a. asked for their money back because of this
b. are having problems with what they waited so long to get and are getting frustrated....wanting their money back.

I'm with Voodoo. I wish them well. But, at the rate they're going, I don't see it going too well. I see a very unfortunate ending/demise to the Sport models.

Well I got a bushing goin bad on the bolt that the engine swivels
Side to side on when steering....ordered the new bushings and that
Sorry ass customer service from gator tail didn't even charge me for
Shipping much less charge me for the parts.
Not sure how much more of this I can take!

I found the answer very vague, sounds like if it dont break, they not gonna take preventive measures....hope nobody get killed in one of these dangerous contraptions.....they are worse than not having flotation.
