 27 HP PD no spark either side. Have a problem with my motor. I have replaced the ignition switch and spark plugs. Starter will turn but no spark is produced from either side. checked continuity of kill switch and seems to be fine. Any sugestions?

Re: 27 HP PD no spark either side. If the kill switch circuit was bad you wouldn't even be able to turn the motor over.. Hard to believe BOTH coils went out at the same time.. I'm not familiar with the Kohler ignition system so call KP or Peck and see what they have to say.

Re: 27 HP PD no spark either side. Yeah it don't make since that both went out. I started it let it idle then died. started then died. then nothing. I looked at the kohler manual and i'm trying to find out what the Spark Advance Module(SAM) does. its that little box on the side of the motor that both power packs feed from. Workin days right now so i can't call peck, i figured I'd post on here to try and learn as much as i could to help me out when i am able to holla at him.

Re: 27 HP PD no spark either side. Same thing happened to my 27, lawn mower mechanic said SAM was bad. Had choice of SAM for $128 or new style coils for $180. Had new coils put in. Running without SAM now. KP or Peck could probably advise ya best.

Re: 27 HP PD no spark either side. well I think that what the problem is going to be. Did you gain anything by deleting the SAM? eisier start, higher idle speed ect...

Re: 27 HP PD no spark either side. No, it just ran better. It was actually turning over and backfiring, then starting. really weird. Your issue may not be the exact same. The SAM is built in to the new style coil.
