 Re: 1744 WC Custom
Pete has kept me updated every time an issue has came up. When I ordered my boat he told me there was 13 or 14 in front of me. And he gave me an estimate of when it might be done. You can't take an estimate as the gospel. Business is business.

 Re: 1744 WC Custom
yeah im gonna have to agree with kennedy here. i was given plenty of updates along the way with my build and was notified when an issue came up. if you're gonna go with a custom boat from a custom builder, there are gonna be things that come up with almost every boat due to the fact that every boat is different. and as far as his "people skills" go, he doesnt have time to stop and answer the phone 24 hrs a day. when its your turn and hes working on your hull, you will be front and center with him but until then be patient so he can extend the same courtesy to the people whos turn it is now.

if you call answering questions "bashing" I was asked a question and I gave a answered the question. Pete is the one who came on here trying to bash me. None of yall even know the facts so if you don't know don't jump on the bandwagon.

 Re: 1744 WC Custom
So far I don't have a bad thing to say about Pete. I put my money down around the 1st of July and communication has been great so far. He just updated me this weekend.
These are custom built boats. Shit happens. I expected it when I put my money down.

 Re: 1744 WC Custom
Let’s clear some things up. I’m not bashing anyone (I wasn’t aiming to come across that way). I just want my boat done correctly so I can go on down the road and take this as a learning experience. WC When I came to you about a boat I stated many of times that I wanted this to be a turn-key boat and I did not want to touch a thing except a key to crank it when it is completed. The only extra that was not included and added during the course of this build was the Gator Glide-which you talked me into (which was done after we surpassed my delivery date). Rigging, I don’t need to know how long it takes, just when it’s done. During the course of my boat being rigged, I had to come up there on a Thursday at noon to help so I could have my boat by the weekend (I was tired of waiting for it). When I came back Friday afternoon, the boat set just like it did when I left Thursday, which I watched your fiancé work more on it then you. How is weather/mother nature a delay factor? My buddy runs his welding shop rain/sleet/snow/sunshine. While you are waiting on dry weather for paint, couldn’t you been welding on the next one? That’s like me saying I can’t go in the office today because it’s raining outside. Facts, I paid 100% in full on April 5th, May 24th I was told my boat build would begin by mid following week, I was told my materials weren’t ordered till end of May, who knows when the motor was ordered, and I find out my Hydroturf wasn’t ordered till 1st week of Aug-you had my money, why not order everything in the beginning so there is no excuse for materials, I don’t think the material would rust sitting in your yard? You worked 3 days taking a carb apart multiple times because you are the proclaimed GTR “service center”-it’s called warranty, don’t try to portray working 3 days on it was a favor. Then I see you put a post on here not knowing what to do. Is it a bigger problem that the mfg couldn’t resolve it or they wouldn’t replace it immediately, instead of band-aiding the issue? I thought I was buying a new motor that ran correctly, this is not my fault-it should have been tested. As for you had other things to work on beside my carb, is not my problem, I’m a paying customer not a buddy when it comes to my money and business [instances like this should be factored into your build schedule-it’s called Manufacturing process management (MPM)]. I’m not one to tell someone how to run their business, but if it was me, I would finish the first boat I started completely before I would start another boat. Especially if I have limited work space that could bottleneck my production (to avoid blaming weather that a boat couldn’t be painted-delaying everyone else’s build or waiting on a motor or material). If it’s putting out 1 quality boat a month, so be it, I wouldn’t over load my plate and get a bad reputation, cause “word of mouth” marketing can either boost you or kill you in this line of business-but that’s just me. You spent several hours while on vacation trying to help me is incorrect, and if it was true-it’s not my problem. As we all know and most of us have done, we’ve canceled/moved a vacation if there is a fire burning at work that needs resolution, especially if it’s your own business and your reputation is on the line. I will be the 1st to say that we all need a break from work, but work just can’t stop-it must go on. This is why we hire employees to keep our work process flowing. If this was a planned vacation and dates couldn’t be changed, then its sounds like a scheduling (production process) issue/time management problem. When you were on vacation, I texted you and you said you were on vacation and you could get your guy to take another relay off for me in the morning (took 1 min max for that text). I went and got it and it still did not work (they cannot portray this as a favor, it’s called Warranty-either on a work day or vacation day-its not the customers issue) . If you are stating you sent me in the right direction by texting me to call Gator Tail (one more min for that text), that is not directing me-I take that as you cannot fix or don’t want to deal with the problem-basically pawing me off. Why am I paying you for if I have to call GatorTail myself? As for as Gator Tail getting all the glory, it’s because they Called me when they found out what was going on and went out of their way to help me fix the problem. They even overnighted me an extra part, which I sent back to them because I did not need it. This is why they get the glory!! I also had help from Team Camo and Owen. You agreed you would be upset too. I understand there are speed bumps in business that you must overcome that are uncontrollable, but it is how you handle them reflects to your business. I am the customer and do not want to hear about your problems. If there are problems, it’s a must, that you bring a solution. I am just stating the facts of my experience (not bad mouthing you). As for my kid, its best to leave her out of this. The only reason I went with you as a builder was because I was told I would have my boat around June 1st . I wanted to enjoy my boat a little before she was born (as any father knows a lot of/if not all of your spare time will be dedicated to them in their early years). Unfortunately my kid is 7 weeks old now and I still don’t have a completed boat. To top it off, I was also told it would run around 30mph and we aren’t even close to reaching that speed. Just because someone is a stand up guy and quality craftsmen, doesn’t automatically mean they have all the faucets to run a business smoothly, I have no issues with you on a personal level, this is strictly business. As for the “extras”, that’s just part of the negotiating; you didn’t have to add anything extra to the build if you felt it would hinder the sale. With all this being said, you are the one who jumped on a defense when all I did is answer a few questions of other members (again, if I came across bashing you, that was not my intent-Sometimes my emotions show through on text especially after reading you didn’t get a Thank you from me for your problems). If you want to try to call me out then you can talk to me when I pick up my completed boat face to face. I have spent way too much money on this and have tried to hold back as much as possible.

 Re: 1744 WC Custom
Dude quit bitching .. Quit telling the guy how to run his business .. From what I can read your the only one having issues ... If you wanted your boat so bad you should have just let him finish .. But ican guarantee if you had a vacation scheduled and work was busy you wouldn't cancel the vacation ..

Aren't the mods done by hoyt as an individual, not by gt? Isn't the warranty through hoyt directly?

Sounds like someone got a broom handle shoved up their ass and isn't happy about it. It could be where the disgruntledness comes from.

CB, you are correct. As I stated above I did not come on here to "bash" anyone. I simply answered a few questions that was asked. I then felt like I was thrown under the bus so I felt like I need to state the facts and clarify myself. I run a business myself and completely understand how things can be very stressful.
Calphil, I also did not mean to ninja your thread.

 Re: 1744 WC Custom
I will say its all its all Gorillas fault I told his ass to buy mine!!! LMAO!! Among other things... like I told him to buy the carb from andy and I'd help him install it.HAHA. but I will say that Pete went to Aruba in March while I was waiting on my boat to be built as well.So its not his first vacation of the year. Kinda have to raise an eyebrow at that one .. While there are things he cant control.... it should take a week to two weeks tops, Working 5/8's, to do fabrication on the boat no matter what all is in it. not even counting paint and rigging. That is taking ones sweet time. My boat was very similar to gorillas and actually easier. and it took over 6 weeks. no paint, no wiring. That was with me helping almost every day the first two weeks or so until I had a position change at work.Calphil... you posted the first pic of yours 7 days ago and the boat was 80%??? finished. so You should be picking it up this week?? I am building a boat similar to yours right now... I work one day a week on and I do that alone with not near the equipment that pete has. I have about 20 hours labor in it and its to that same point. And this is the first one I have built. I'm not goin to go into all the details of my transaction with WC, but there is a reason I didnt post a review of my boat. I hate to see that Willett is still having the same issues and I hope everything works out. I think we all want to see his business succeed. I hope Gorilla gets his shit fixed too!! Maybe next time you will listen to DADDY!! LMAO
