 Need advice
I have a 54 x 16 semi v all weld boat and want to put mud motor on it. Travel up to 10 miles to hunt in river and open water, but have lots of shallow water to cross. Any suggestions? Thanks, Capt. Mike

 Re: Need advice
Before I purchased an engine, spoke to different manufactures and vendors, none of them recommend a V bottom boat. You need to got and test them all. If you want reverse, either PD or GT.

 Re: Need advice
I know a guy with a 35hp Gaytortail on a boat pretty close to yours & it does just fine.

 Re: Need advice
Mike if its got a slick bottom and goes back to a shallow v or flat it will do fine. It can't have any hook or V crimps on the bottom. You will want a longer SD like the gd. I would want to bolt one on a do a test drive on your boat.
