Post scavenger motor prop question
I have a 13hp Honda scavenger, done some motor upgrades and want it to run a little better than it did. Seen some people talking about a calvataion plate and moving it. Now the problem is which way. Do I open the plate up to allow more water to hit the prop or close it to funnel the water across it. I talked to the owner and he said I have the old design and can buy a new one for 175$. I'm trying to avoid spending that cause the old lady is already mad about my duck hunting spending. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are going to have to spend any money on it at all sell it and buy a go devil or mudbuddy long tail. Or any other brand.

The scavenger is going to be a money pit either way you look at it, the design is limited, if it wasn't all of the longtails would be built with the PTO facing backwards. The best thing you can do is adjust the cavitation plate so it skims just under the surface of the water. Bending the plate down lets water to flow over the plate causing lift, bending up causes water to have to flow over the plate at a steeper angle pushing the plate down.
