So, I've been reading on the site for a couple months, but this will be my first post. Im very new to mud motors, and I'm looking for a small surface drive. I know I can get a 5-6 hp longtail, but would rather have an SD for a 12 ft sneak boat. Anyone build one? Thoughts? I need something light.

Think mud buddy makes a 9hp robin sd and godevil makes an 18 hp last i heard.

Both the MB and GD are longtails, I know it's a stretch, but I really want a surface drive if I can find one in the 5-6 hp range. I may have to build one, unless someone knows something I cant find on the interweb.

Just checked Go-Devils web site they do still make the 18hp surface drive. Have not check mud buddy but a year or so ago they made a 9 hp surface drive with a Robin engine. Think you have to dig around the Mud Buddy site to find it.

I'll look again, or call I guess.
