 Utah
Ok, so I want to start off by saying I'm not a mudbuddy fan, I drive a 1656 go devil boat with a 35 longtail on it and I hope to one day get a custom boat with a sexy stage 2 GTR hanging off the back. Mud buddy's business practices are wrong and the way they have handled this whole thing with the sport V and H is fucked up. But I'm sitting in class right now reading MMT and got to wondering if anyone on here has ever run a GTR or Prodrive out there in Utah. Just curious as to what this mysterious land of unicorns called Utah is like.

 Re: Utah
It was said that anything but a MB won't run in Utah. A GT, PD and GD runs on the truth and Utah is so full of BS with MB being over there, that the rest will not run properly.

 Re: Utah
Most of it is a lack of dealers for other brands. We do have a Go-Devil dealer with fantastic service (Go-Devil Of Utah). With that, there are a fair number of Go-Devils around and a few GTR's. And yes, they run just fine out here

 Re: Utah
No stumps, most spots are 6"-12" of soft mud on top of a harder clay or sandy bottom. There are a few deep soft spots in the diked in marshes with some hard sandy spots along the Great Salt Lake shores.

 Re: Utah
The drake crew hunted with mb in the episode that just aired the last few days. It was cool seeing how they hunt out there.

 Re: Utah
There's not much else in Utah but MB I've never seen a pro drive or a GT here. Shit ton of MB's though. Some Beavertails and Go devils. It's really all hard bottom and sand. We get the same service everyone gets. Ya just have to go to there shop. The GSL has clean water to wash the boat and motor off when ya get out of the salt.

 Re: Utah
Belt housing is cast aluminum. And shaft housing, shaft brace, and skeg I believe are some type of steel (carbon or chromoly).

 Re: Utah
Many years ago I lived in Utah. I have to say that I enjoyed some very good duck and goose hunting there. The terrain is much different than S.E. LA for sure. No stumps, no logs, good shallow water, cattails, reeds, shallow mud and no need for a thermacell.
However, when it starts to freeze that is a whole different monster. Breaking ice with your boat, listening to the ice ring off your prop, colder than frozen balls. Snow, sleet, ice rain.
I tried to buy a MB longtail when I lived there (no surface drives anywhere at that time) They never did get the motor built that I am aware of. A sales guy for GD was at the boat shop and sold me his demo motor right off the back of his demo boat. Now that is service.
