WHAT MOTOR???

 WHAT MOTOR???I currently run a 1651 Excel DB. Its got the mod v only running up with the rake. Its a 5 degree rake, and .125 hull. I love the layout of the boat and not in situation to purchase a true mud hull. What size PD/GT do you think would push it decently well? Not looking for a speed demon. But 25-27 with no load would be great. 20 with a load wouldnt piss me off.

Re: WHAT MOTOR??? Also I dont run much mud if any at all. Its hyrdilla and stump filled lakes, and some sand bars. I know Excel is hated on here but its been a jam up boat. It doesnt draft bad for a mod v and cuts on a dime.

Re: WHAT MOTOR??? Have a friend with the same hull and a 35 mud buddy. Runs decent with 1 person... Runs like crap with more that 1 and hates shallow water.

Re: WHAT MOTOR??? First of all.. Great looking rig! I dont believe even with a Pro Drive 36 or Mudbuddy sport 36 youre going to see 27 even without a load. I get asked all the time here about putting mud motors on the F4 hull i sell, at the end of the day its just not designed to perform with a mud motor. Would it work? short answer yes, but in any kind of mud or muck its not going to treat you well.

Re: WHAT MOTOR??? I've got a 15 44 mod v kinda like that running a stock gtr35 and I see 25 with a load running shallow, and n more than one other hunter. With me by myself no more than abt 26-27. Hope that helps.
