 Bent cavitation plate 36 pd
Slightly bent the cav plate this weekend. Whats the best way to fix? Take it off the lower unit and bend back? It is just flared up on one side where it is welded to the vertical piece that bolt to lower unit.

Re: Bent cavitation plate 36 pd
Don't mean to hijack the thread...but...Are the cavitation plates really needed for the PD...except to keep your prop from hitting your transom when using FPR?? I've always wondered about that....and there has to be some people out there that have played with taking the cavitation plate off and/or modifying the cavitation plate.

Re: Bent cavitation plate 36 pd
I know for a FACT a bad prop with fuck one up. After it works loose once, like NFF said, the holes get mess up and makes it harder to keep them tight, I think the thing to do is run a small bead of silicone in the groove and put it back on. Then it'll be there and have some vibration isolation but you can get it off later if needed with a little pulling.
