Re: Post your Blind Pic here...
We may not exactly meet the "two week after rule" but we do remove the material (fencing, limbs etc) before end of February. The fencing is old chain link and it is held to the posts with galvanized fence staples. The limbs are held to the fence with zip ties. Once season is over, we cut everything loose and use the bundled limbs for crappie tops. We roll the fence sections back up and take them home. Anything attached to the trees gets removed. Nothing is left to rust or rot. Only thing that stays are the posts. Corps does not seem to be too concerned with them there. We make sure we leave nothing that someone could get hurt on when we remove them. That spot is actually a fantastic crappie hole once spring arrives and the fish get in under the trees. Aything left (bundled limbs) just adds to the cover for them.
Yes we stay in the boats when hunting. At normal pool, the water is about 3 1/2 ft deep there and a hard bottom. You could wade if you wanted but it is a ton easier just staying in the boat. The top rails are not too high to be able to shoot while sitting.
The only problems with this blind set up are the waves. Anything much over 10 mph and those waves are tough to deal with unless they come from the SE.

Re: Post your Blind Pic here...
I just zip tie the shit out of it. that string on the bottom is pretty much just a jig for the gooks to work off of when they make em. Holds just fine. I give my buddy hell every time I'm in his boat about the upside down grass! It just doesn't look right.

I'm going to get something better later on. That academy grass isn't that great anyways. Everyone I know with a gator tail blind looks just like this. Lol.

Re: Post your Blind Pic here...
Sad day yesterday I went and took my blind out for the year, I am sure all you are in full swing using yours and good luck to you. Here are a few pics of how we take the blinds out in Northern, Alberta. November 6th we had no snow and ice was just starting.
No fear of falling thru 8" of ice in 18 days.
Later Phil
