Post Re: Browning Dirty Bird vs. Under Armor SkySweeper Extreme
Well im glad I went with the UA jacket yall are making me feel assured I made the right purchase. One thing I really wish under armor would make..... I absolutely hate waders.. I cant move with mine on, I cant pick my legs up, nothing, unless I have shorts on and even then its a pain.. I hate when something inhibits mobility. It could be just my waders.. which are about the most bulky, stiffest pair of lacrosse you will ever wear.. I very seldomly have the need for chest waders anymore.. I have been hunting more private stuff lately, where we are hunting out of a blind mostly on a bank.. Only time I need something to keep me dry is picking up and putting out decoys.. I have hip boots, but they are far far far from warm.. in fact I think my feet would be warmer in just socks, rather than with them on..

Brasso if you are ever in little rock run by ft.thompsons. They have their own brand waders (not sure of tge actual maker) and tgey are the most comfortable wader ive ever put on. Ill never own a pair of lacrosse again. I may try another brand jacket one day but ive been real happy with my drake stuff. I have 3 1/4zip pullovers and a 4n1 to wear out before i droo any more $ on a jacket.

You must be hunting with Neoprene - screw that. Get the breathable. Cabelas has some Dry Plus waders that have lasted me 5 yrs roughly. The rubber on the boots is what ends up going bad, so I went with stocking foot last year and threw on some old tennis shoes. You can walk so much easier without your foot trying to come out the boot. The breathables are cool in the heat, and warm in the winter. I've even used them fly fishing in Alaska in 50 degree water standing in it literally all day long - worked like a charm and free movement.

Ya know you can't beat columbia and their cs. ..... buy a jacket, wear it 3 or 4 years...As soon as it leaks or zipper breaks or whatever, send it back they send you a new one......i bought my browning off this site for 100 bucks and really like the jacket... light and warm.....but if I were buying new I would go columbia.

im a huge fan of cabelas waders. i have the light mags now and i stand in the water many times while hunting and yet to be cold, which is unusal for me bc my feet are usually cold.

Screw neoprene, get some LaCrosse Alpha Swampfox and be comfortable. Boots are still insulated, the rest of it feels like wearing a pair of overalls. Never any issues with getting cold for me.

I got no problems standing balls deep in a flooded corn field and 30* temps with a few layers. Nobody south of the mason Dixon line has any excuse to not wear breathable a because they're not warm enough...

I wear breathable unless I'm standing in waist deep water, then I prefer my neoprene.
