Stuck like Chuck out in the refuge today.... I was doing good until ran out of real estate before I could get the boat turned around. Once I stopped it was all over. The mud was bottomless, but the damn motor wouldnt trim down far enough to get a good bite. It just kept blowing out. I'm going to have to hack off a piece of the frame to let it dig a little deeper. The mud slide was workin like a sumbitch though. With my wife in the boat I could push it with 2 fingers...... I can't believe the motor wouldnt push it.

If your wife is anything like mine, she was posting the pics on Facebook as you were cussing your ass off. [POUTING FACE] on another note I don't Gator Glide or anything.

you both couldnt get in the back and try to weigh it down? I've had to do that before and it worked.

I tried for about 10 minutes with both of us in the boat, but couldn't budge. I think the prop would have had to been at least 3 or 4" deeper to have any effect. I tried idling, full throttle, sawing back and forth, rocking the boat front to back, letting it liquify the mud, spinning around and biting a new section of mud, but the result was always the same......the prop would just blow out the mud. The top of the prop is about 2" below the mud when trimmed all the way down.

The only thing I could think of in hindsight is if we both got on the very stern and jumped up and down or something to try to sink the stern down so the prop would be deeper, but I think even if that worked and it bit, as soon as we moved it would blow out again.


On another note, I FUCKING HATE CLAY! I crashed 4 times and threw my wife ass over tea kettle into the front of the boat (almost over the side) when the prop bit into the clay under the mud in another spot. I got it on video a couple of times.....

Them copperheads can run across a mud flat but they sure don't like to stop! Swampnuts can attest to that txkingfisher.
