A VERY GOOD HUNT
Some what of a long story so here goes. last yr a member here lined up a timber hunt for me so that i could take a couple of vets that had lost a limb part. and maybe a little of wanting to go foward in life. it was a huge sucess. this yr it turned into three heroes wanting to go. game on my new friend said. this hunt the last two yrs has been in arkansas in the timber mostly. somewhat of a challenge but we made it work again. the hunt lasted a short week. the small town we stayed in once they found out what was going on treated us like family. I remember on the third night a lovely lady that i found out later to be in her 40s walked up to me at the eatery shook my hand. hugged me. kissed me on the cheek and said what a noble thing i was doing. she told me about her own son who loved the outdoors also. ending with him not coming back. i spent the time with her to also tell her i knew her pain having to write back home way to many letters than one man should ever write and having the proud job of having to escort my own brother home so many yrs ago. only to come home to a somewhat hostile homecoming. I'am going to be honest here. it has been hard on me also. the years never seemed to completely heal till this last hunt. when we were leaving a young boy and his sister walked up to me and said thank you. i looked at my new four friends and knew that the healing was complete. we live in such a great country please remember those that have served and those that will soon serve.and please thank a vet.and his or hers family for their losses also. God bless you.and your family. and GOD BLESS THE USA.
