 What's it worth?
Im looking at a '02 24hp honda GDLT. Guy says it has about 230 hours and has never replaced anything but oil and fuel filters. He is asking $1300.
That is not a lot of hours for a 12 yo motor is it??
How many more seasons does it have left?
I'll be putting it on a 14/36......is it too big?
Thanks

The engine aughta be fine, I'd bet money the thing needs new bushings, seals, and possibly a prop. Is that price firm? I might go $1300 if the above were already taken care of but if not you're prolly looking at another $300+ to get it in peak running shape...

Sounds fair. I boutht an '02 23hp vanguard for $1200 last spring. Bushings and seals are easy cheap fixes. Defenitely check the prop. I believe this should run a 9x6?

 Re: What's it worth?
Hunted with a MB with that 24 on it for about 15 years (I was 16 or 17 the first time I hunted in it, and it wasn't new then). That motor has since been sold, and it's still going strong. Prob has more than 800 hours on it. We ran the crap outta that thing before we sold it. We replaced the lower bearing and shaft the year before we sold it. Went through 5 or 6 props before we got rid of it, never ran sandy bottoms though, so they lasted a while. I'd buy it back today if I didn't have a longtail to use when I needed one.
