Son getting to know the GTR
He kept begging so I figured it would be good for him to know how it operates if something were to happen to me .

Re: Son getting to know the GTR
Now he thinks he should get to drive it all the time. Just need to teach him how to use a gps. Taught him how to drive the flats boat also. Wanted to make sure we are able to get back in if my heart decides to complicate an outing. Getting old sucks, the wife said my days of solo hunting and fishing are over. Nice thing is that if I tell her me and one of the boys are going she never has an issue with it.

Re: Son getting to know the GTR
I'm 42 and recently diagnosed with a heart problem. This is the first year with the no solo trip rule. Probably best, helps me make better decisions having kids in the boat

Re: Son getting to know the GTR
You cannot start teaching them early enough. And when appropriate you can give them small doses of taking over till they can do it all by themselves. That is how I was taught. Navigating as well as driving. Builds self confidence and matures them in the right ways.
