Post Gator Tail Gearing Sprokets
Being unfamiliar with Gator Tail, and the lack of this detail on their website, I take it you can swap gearing and ratios like you can with a MB? If so, where can you buy those gears and find out more info? I did a search on here and the only thing that comes up with 'gear' is hunting gear.

The hard part about changing gears on a gator tail is that you would have to shim the motor to accommodate the belt tension or change the top and bottom together. You also have brake caliper clearance issues to consider when you go moving the engine up to tighten the belt. Or get a new belt to match exactly.

They only have 2 different ratios...old one was lower new one is higher. I'm not sure if you can still get the old gear from them or not, I'm sure they have some. And the difference is the bottom gear, there's only one top.

So to answer your question, no you can't really change ratios like a MB.

They still have the 45T, I bought one not too long ago to replace a worn one.

the new gear ratio is 1.263 to 1 and that's a 38 top and 48 bottom but I think I have that wrong cause it might be a 47 bottom and that would be 1.236 to 1

Which would mean higher geared

Yes....the 48 is a 'shorter' gear and will increase low end pull.

Yes I believe you can interchange them and I can see possibly a lower gear in the future

so all u have to do is change the 48 in the part number to say 50 and then u have a 50 groove pulley

Have any of y'all actually changed them? Mine would require a different belt to go to a bigger gear. Not enough adjustment.

When I talked to gator tail I was told I would have to change my belt housing. Said they make 2 lengths.
