 Re: remote controlled trolling motor
I have a 55lb rip tide with ipilot and really like it. Gets a little aggravating sometimes bass fishing small creeks. I mostly use mine around the coast fishing around bridges, channel markers, and dock pilings, the spot lock is awesome for that. It takes a minute to get adjusted in strong current but once it does it has no problem keeping me on my spot.

 Re: remote controlled trolling motor
My remote control trolling motor didn't last long for bow fishing. If your in stumps it doesn't move fast enough. I also didn't like it for bass fishing either

 Re: remote controlled trolling motor
I use the older style Minn Kota copilot trolling motor for bow fishing. I like it. I can be anywhere in the boat and control the boat from the wrist fob.(on and off, speed, and direction) As much as I would like to upgrade to the ipilot the copilot serves its purpose well. The wrist fob is small and doesn't get in the way. The ipilot has a hell of a lot more features. It also has a bigger controller that I believe would be more trouble to deal with while bow fishing. One drawback for me is wind. I much prefer to have my foot controlling the boat when it gets to be more than a strong breeze. I just feel like I have better control. Hope that helps!

 Re: remote controlled trolling motor
I was just thinkin that having a foot control would just be that much more shit in the way up in the boat of the boat. Maybe I could get a trolling motor with a longer cable for the pedal to get it down on the floor

 Re: remote controlled trolling motor
You are right! if it were a cable style trolling motor foot controller it would be a royal pain. Mine is electronic, so it's just the wiring. It's easy to roll up and put at the front of the boat out of the way. The drawback with the electronic foot control is that they don't seem to respond as well as the cable style. IMO anyway. The electronic style mooves in increments. They are small, but each touch of the arrow turns you "x" percent. I'm sure the elctronics will fail long before the cable style would, but it's easier to get out of the way. +'s and -'s both ways, like anything. I think the wrist fob is awesome for most app's.

 Re: remote controlled trolling motor
I may have to try that. Or I'll just use my polling platform and see how push polling does

 Re: remote controlled trolling motor
I don't having a polling platform, and the pole is for an emergency only! LOL! Seems like it would be tough to push pole and shoot and have fun. Just for the sake of argument, keep in mind that getting side tracked watching what fish are doing while at the back of the boat can make for a 3 prop evening if your not paying attention. It's easy to get caught up in the action, and if your 18' away looking the wrong direction it can cost you. Hope someone else chimes in to help you out. For the backwaters and sloughs that we have, my setup works. Lots of variables I guess. Hell, I'm just jealous you have open water to even think about bowfishing!!

 Re: remote controlled trolling motor
dads got one. can be a little frustrating but works good. i do most of the driving, gives him the best chance to fish. like being able to control from anywhere in the boat. only problem is you have to have a line of sight of the motor and it seems like he is always in the way.

Terova. Anchor mode is awesome. Will save you from buying a power pole.

I have the wireless foot control Minnkota and really like it. No wires to get in the way.

I'd loose my head if it wasn't attached. I'd loose a remote first day I had it.
