 fuel tank
i have a 1744 gtrax with a closed in bow with a door on top. it is not waterproof. i want to move my gas tank up there. should i be concerned about fumes and explosion or fire if i did this. it has a troll motor plug and a q-beam plug up there also. does anybody else have this set up and will it be a problem picking up gas that far away from the motor?

 Re: fuel tank
Are you planning on putting it inside the deck? If so i wouldnt suggest that. Fumes would gather in there and everything would smell like gas and i dont think it would be safe. Have you looked into putting an extention on your deck and putting the tank under that?

 Re: fuel tank
yea i thought about a drop in extension that i can take out during duck season also. but i never use that box for storage and was thinking it would be a good way to get that tank out of the middle of my floor and add some weight to the front.

 Re: fuel tank
Just cut the wall out and have it open. If you never use it your not losing anything and you still have space for bird season.

 Re: fuel tank
Of you're in louisiana you have to have a vent on an enclosure that has a gas tank in it.
