Looking good gfowel!!! I like that you did the skeg and lower end on the motor also. I just bought a 1750 GatorTrax with 35 MB and I'm cleaning it up now the start the GatorBase then G2. should be ready in a week or two.

Do you have to use the base? I have a frog spit bottom that has some wear and was thinking G4 over the top. What do you think Frog?

If you have the FS on the bottom the base will not do you any good. The GatorGlide will stick to the FS, just sand and wipe well with acetone first.

Jimmy is collecting leftovers from everybody else's GG applications. Once he gets enough to make up a half gallon, he is going to mix them all together to get a rainbow GatorGlide application.

My boat sat for a week before I could apply the G2. I talked to frog and he suggested 300 grit since I was going to use a DA. I could only find 400 or 220 grit DA. So I hand sanded the side and edge with 220. Then I turned the DA down and sanded the bottom with 220 also. I used light pressure as not to take off to much material. My phone was dead so was only able to get pics after I was done. Four coats of G2 and one really light 5th on the running surface.

Have you run the boat yet? How do you you like it?

NO not yet. Got my heads sent out for some improvements.

What color Is the final coat? I thought about going with a red base and olive green finish. Is this olive green?

Will you be able to tell the difference between the base coat and the finish coat? Did the base coat stay bright green when dry?

What do you think about using a red base?
