That's funny my progressive agent told me I could insure my homemade boats through them. I went through State Farm on my last one and had no problems.

I went with Farm Bureau for my new rig. Glad I did not go progressive now

State Farm. Always been good to deal with...through Katrina and all.

However, they take a couple payments and cover you until the end of the month EVEN THOUGH its not an acceptable boat? I would demand a credit and cancel immediately.

I had progressive and they canceled mine as well.. Said they can't insure boats with mud motors. They'll insure a bass boat that's runs 90 but not a surface drive rig that runs 30.

My agent said progressive is canceling all mud boat and custom boat policies.
Check out foremost they have some good coverage and reasonable rates.

Progressive's CEO was a huge democrat supporter. Gave tons to democrats.
Gave between 2 and 12 million to MoveOn.org....Soros organization.

Still have my progressive ins since '09 and was going to up the coverage to mechanical/motor issues.

I have progressive and I still have coverage on my custom hull as well as bass boat.

i have them also. Home, cars and boat. guess ill be getting a letter.

They dropped me after a week or two. More to do with the propulsion of the boat, is what they told me. Boat us now

Waste of money!

You all should do a back ground check on who is part owner of this company.....when I found out I took my harley insurance elsewhere

State Farm here, but as I recall, this is about the fifth time someone has started a thread like this about Progressive.

I am with geico and its only about 120 a year

I just renewed my policy with Boat US and it was 275 a year for full replacement cost on my Gator Tail. It also includes both on the water and on the road towing assistance. I went with Boat US last year after Progressive dropped my policy 3 weeks after they wrote my new policy on my rig. They said it was due to the type of propulsion. But switching saved my about 50 a year.

You should call Boat US towing when you get that rig stuck and get your money's worth out of that extra $25/year!

Even if you have to get all of that to get the insurance, if it is only a little bit more or the same, it would be worth it. They will tow your boat and trailer if there is a problem. No one else will do that.

Progressive did the same to me. Gave me a policy, then cancelled it after one month.

This is part of the reason I bought a $4K rig and basically insure it myself I have another boat thru farmers where I have all my vehicles and motorcycle, it was easier that way plus I had already heard the BS about some companies not insuring mud boats. I just dodged it completely. I try to keep things simple.

I have had State Farm since 07 and never had a mins trouble with them.

That's not very progressive of them
