50w led flood vs 500w halogen ???

 50w led flood vs 500w halogen ??? Finally got my hands on a 50w led cool white light
I tried to set them both up in the same spot and angle
Which is about 30yrds from red trailer

Re: 50w led flood vs 500w halogen ??? Led on top I guess. To white of a light for the water I shoot. Now if you on clear water it should work.
Goood comparisons on the two. Notice the slight yellow tint from the halogen.

It's pretty much like this, think of particles in the water like fog in the air, the white led light is awesome in clear water but as soon as you add anything to it, the light reflects back and you can't see through it. Hence why they have amber/yellow "fog" lights. It has less glare and appears to "penetrate" the water better.

Re: 50w led flood vs 500w halogen ??? You can buy LED lights in different color temps. The picture above is what's called a "cool" temperature. It looks like a fluorescent light and its probably in the 4000k-5,000k range. The halogens are typically in the 2,500k range, which is what is referred to as "warm" and exhibits the yellow or amber colors. Up from warm is "soft" (3,500k) and so on and so forth. Anyway, point is, you can buy LEDs in the 2,500k (warm) temps and get the same look for 1/10th the wattage and 10 times the upfront cost. If you're running a small 2kw Yamaha generator such as myself, the smaller wattage lights are priceless.
Inotherwords, it's not an apples to apples comparison.
Get a 2500 LED and then compare
