 Re: Gatorglide.
Hi, I just registered to see if anyone has opinions of gatorglide being used on fiberglass boats. I am just finishing a texas scooter style build and am planning to use monstaliner for the topsides and would like the gatorglide for the bottom. Mostly I like the ease of application and re-application as I understand I don't have to worry about inhaling the fumes and dying. However in a few days of searching through the internet I have only found one or two applications on glass boats?
I won't be powering down a gravel bank like air boaters but sometimes I might scrape bottom or have to pole out of the grass, we aren't allowed to scar the bottom in my area so I am not looking as much for abrasion resistance as ease of application and durability under normal boating conditions. My other options all have their negatives too and they aren't anywhere as easy to apply.
Can anyone think of a reason I wouldn't use it? Would it be suitable to be left in the water for a few days at a time? most of the time she will be on blocks on dry land. When you paint up on the sides, are there any problems with UV Degradation?
Thanks for any opinions!!

 Re: Gatorglide.
might have to get some and just paint it on my trailer boards for some of the places i try to push my boat off in i figure it would work the same.

 Re: Gatorglide.
Good deal. The little boat I have now is light enough to manhandle off the trailer. The one that I'll have in the not too distant future will be too heavy though and I'll need a little help from the gg. Thanks for the info

 Re: Gatorglide.
Does anyone have any good suggestions or ideas on how to apply GG without taking off the motor and flipping the boat? Is it possible and will it work without doing so?

 Re: Gatorglide.
Great negotiating skills. It was given to me as a test motor to test and I was more than impressed. I was given the option to keep it so I did.

I borrowed these from rubberduck, he made them to do his boat. Work great, I didn't have any decent trees to hang mine from.

 Re: Gatorglide.
Well I drank the Gator glide kool aid. David tells me it should be here sometime tomorrow. Gonna put it on my old riveted Lowe jon boat I use for bowfishing and see how it does. After running the snow blower for 3 hours, I was able to get a path from where the boat is stored behind the barn to get it into the front of my shop. That was fun!!! I emptied and flipped the boat but didn't pound all the hooks out of rake on the front of the boat for fear of it leaking after doing so but I got the boat all sanded down, all the way to the crimp, have a gallon of Acetone to wipe it down with and the furnace is running in my shop to get the temperature up to where I believe it'll be safe to apply it. Probably won't get at it tomorrow but maybe Thursday. Wish me luck. We shall see how it does.

 Re: Gatorglide.
Okay. It's beat up and has lots of dents but I Gator Glided it today and here are the pics. I use this boat strictly for bowfishing and don't need a lot of speed to get where we shoot but the logs and stumps have taken it's toll on this hull.
I went all the way from the front to back and 12" up the sides and the transom. I put 5 coats on the bottom and 4 on the sides and transom. Hope it holds up in the logs and stumps, allowing me to slide over more of them while bowfishing. Time will tell.
