 Engine/Shaft alignment
During my GDLT rebuild I will be replacing the motor mounting plate and the plate that sits on the transom bracket. Any tips for getting the motor aligned with the shaft will be extremely helpful. Thanks

 Re: Engine/Shaft alignment
Take some before pics. , measure your layout and widths and heights. . make some marks with sharpie. , draw out where it needs to be to stay plumb. , level. Or square . Then fab it up and double check. .

 Re: Engine/Shaft alignment
Why'd you have to cut the plates off?

 Re: Engine/Shaft alignment
The one between the frame and motor mount was torqued up (twisted). This is a pre 90's that has been used and abused. I got it 2 months ago and in the process of rebuilding it for my son.
