Post 420cc Longtail Speeds
Anybody running a 420cc Predator LT on a 1432/1436 jon?

If so what kind of speeds are you getting with the stock or hopped up motor?

I am considering getting BackH20's 10+ glider kit which will take the 1'' shaft on the 420cc engine. Just trying to get an idea of what i can expect with that set up. ill be running it on a 1432.

Thanks

I have mounted the 420 CC predator stock a few times. I use a 8 x 6 prop with a compound UJ and a 72" drive shaft. The customers reported 15 MPH with 2 people and a full hunting load in 36" wide bottom jon boats. The motors weighed 105 LBS dry.

It all depends on your hunting load. A 1432 with 2 guys and a load will be slow. It will get you from point A to point B. I just think that if you are planning on hunting 2 guys you should step up the boat size. I had a 1542 with a 13 hp POS Thai long tail kit and it did 15 with a 2 man load. If it is just you hunting than a 1432 would be a sweet rig with that motor

i run a 9x5 backwater prop on my longtail and run 18 with a light load and one other person but she doesn't weigh much. full hunting load and one other guy I run about 15 maybe bump 16 if its shallow and calm.

I ran one on my 1432 and with a two man heavy duck load I got 13mph goes a little quicker with a light load out.
