 35 hp godevil or 35 hp sd for tracker grizzly 1648 What motor be best for this boat? .. And yes I need a mod v because I will be hunting off big water getting back into marshes o r swamps ... I am Great Lakes region up north

Re: 35 hp godevil or 35 hp sd for tracker grizzly 1648 I have a tracker 17x48 with a 27 gdsd. Run about 17-18 with just me. Add another guy and decoys 12 mph. 3 guys and decoys about 8-9mph. Get the biggest motor you can afford. I am looking for a mud hull now.

Re: 35 hp godevil or 35 hp sd for tracker grizzly 1648 I had a 23hp Go devil surface drive on a 1548 flat south fork. It did 24.5 solo and 21.5 with 2. My 35hp Go Devil surface drive on my 1848 boat does between 29.5 and 30.
If you are fishing deep water then go surface drive. Go Devil surface drive handles well in deep water. I fished my small go devil and big go devil flat bottoms in deep water several times. No issues at all. A Long tail go devil is made for shallow hard bottoms. They are also made for moderate travel. You can drive the surface drives all day long.

Re: 35 hp godevil or 35 hp sd for tracker grizzly 1648 Ok, i was also considering the 35 hp vanguard dixie mudmotor ... i know they have had clutch issues in the past but talked to the owner and he said they had a wiring issue and that was faulting the clutch and thats why people were having problems with them .. sounds like they have fixed that issue
