Post So How Good is EFI
Well a guy brought me a motor yesterday to adjust carb he met at the house adjusted carb and changed jets motor ran great . So I said let's take a ride ran to gas station by the nearest launch and filled up the other 5 gallons in the tank put boat in and take off make it 200 yards and bam boat shut down full of water. In 20 mins pulled carb off drained it blew out fuel hose and waited for him to return with new gas. So I guess my ? Is how is that gonna work out for u guys with EFI will u be stranded half of hunting season waiting for repairs by those guys at pro drive

Im curious about this not for the point of trashing efi, but i believe it to be a valid question. With water in the gas (which is bound to happen at some point on accident to some), what is the solution? Not saying it's impossible to deal with, or isnt, just wondering how. What damage does it do, if any, to the system? Is it even a big deal at all? And please, lets have legitimate answers here, not speculation. If you don't know, dont bother answering (that statement should bring out the trolls)...

Buy a fuel water separator first off and eliminate allt of possible problems. If you so get water in, disconnect gas line on fuel pump pull plugs and then turn key let the fuel pump purge ur system. Much quicker than having to pull a carb bowl

STT needs his carburetor clean!!

The only thing someone needs to do with a EFI is drain the vapor separator replace the fuel tank with good fuel and
go and if y'all need STT's phone number he could make life a lot easier them a guessing game! If y'all need STT I can share the contact I'm sure he would be glad to help y'all out! Lol

good valid points - the writing is on the wall EFI is coming guys, and then we'll see 10 posts a day on EFI problems instead of carb issues - or will we?
How many posts do we see with drivability issues on the GT 25 EFI ?
yes we'll have to learn some new diagnostic technics - like disconnecting and re-connecting a battery to reset an ECM, but I think we'll all be OK.

My EFI 250's have run a little rough from bad gas, but sluggish to jump on plane is the worst it's ever gotten. Aluminum 200 gallon fuel tanks collect a good bit of condensation, if not run for 7-8 months. A couple of Racors in line work wonders too! I've literally drained GALLONS of water from them over the course of a summer. Motors still purr like they did on day one though! Nice try, dipshit...

Well considering I'm the only one who uses it and maintains it, pretty much. I don't own it, but my old man has referred to it has "your boat" since the day it rolled off the production line... He's got a different boat that he prefers and calls his.

Also, I'm not claiming ANY problems because the EFI doesn't give me any! ;)
