 GT 3 Blade Review Thread
09 GTR on an GT 1860CC GT Stage one Deep water I ran 29 by myself at just under 3700 rpms. I used to run the near the same speeds with a fresh 2 blade but at 3700-3800rpms. I can't tell if it vibrates less with the CC set up but it feels like it has a little more low end and reverse is improved.
I'll post shallow water speeds and loaded weights at a later date. I just wanted to get the info out there. FYI, the prop did not come with a cup which recesses the nut into the prop.

Re: GT 3 Blade Review Thread
What # is stamped on the blades. Mine is 567.I wonder what it means as for as indentifaction purposes.
Btw 3800 with a stage 1 motor seems low with a two blade. I would think you would be around 4000.
What does your stage one consist of?

#567 stamp also. An early Hoyt cam, decked heads and exhaust. I never ran 4000 or over until my 2 blade prop got worn.

But it will run 26-28 with a 4 man bowfishing load with generator and loaded ice chest. I know it will run faster with the 2 blade probably 30-31 unloaded. Don't forget I'm running a 1860 CC with 2 batteries and some misc equipment weight
The motor never reved up high in all the years I had it. My cam is different then the the ones out there now. Not sure if that is the difference.

You might try moving it with the new three blade

 GT 3 Blade Review Thread
I run a 1754 xtreme CC stage one and run 4350 Rpms and 31 mph. When I ran 3 blade I went down to 4100 and 29-30 mph

Their running different gears. I tell you this I know my boat is a dual but I love my 3 blades on it. Not saying it outperforms the 2 blade but it's a better for me and what I do.

Re: GT 3 Blade Review Thread
I've been running it for a month or so now and love it, hole shot is better, tiller torque is noticeably less with a load for me. It did fine in thick grass with a light load but with 4 people I had to change back to the 2 blade foe frogging.

It's NOT all that to me, you lose RPM's and it don't carry a load good I just stick with a 2 blade hands down I rather a 2 blade for performance and all around prop.

Re: GT 3 Blade Review Thread
Old gearing will not turn it that good. My stage two with old gearing could only turn it about 4200 rpms. Im upgrading to the new gearing now. I post up the results after its complete.

Re: GT 3 Blade Review Thread
2 blade > 3 blade
Only thing better about a 3 blade is reverse and you can idle shallower than the 2 blade. Everything else, nod goes to the 2 blade.

Re: GT 3 Blade Review Thread
i dont have any complaints out of my three blade so far, but i haven't ran a two on this boat yet either. This is a stock motor also and ive seen 30 in deep water light that plenty satisfy s me being a stock motor anyways. Is GT gonna offer both now when you call to buy one?

Re: GT 3 Blade Review Thread
If the three blade performs close to the same as the two blade, even if its a lil slower... the blades look a lil thicker on the three blade, so it might not wear out ad fast as the two blade. It may be worth a shot for me even though i have old style pulleys.

Yep Delta is right, this would help your rig alot with how heavy it is. The new gear does really well in all aspects.

Re: GT 3 Blade Review Thread
The other night I had 6 of us in that heavy rig with the bowfishing gear. It barely wanted to plane in deep water but ran 26-27 in shallow. I think that was the hardest that motor ever worked coming home with all those people,28reds,15sheep head, and 9 drum fish. Got on step and kept it up till back at launch. I think my worn 2 blade actually helped with that big load.
And....what the fuk was so damn funny?

Nothing wrong with that. The gears will help you with the loads.

Bottom gear belt housing and a belt. Gear ratio 1.26 from the 1.18 ratio.

For the record, oow Rpm's were a little over 4000. There is some adjusting to be done as it just came from the shop after the rocker boss incident. Still 29 ain't bad.

I guess if u gotta get a whole new belt housing to change gears u might as well get the new style lower unit too.?? Do u need to grease and change seals as often with the new style?

Housing is to accommodate larger pulley. Belt is to fit 48t pulley instead of 45t.
