Back to this tread, how good is EFI?

Well to be honest good enough for me to spend the money on it because I'm tired of fricking with my carb, it's always something with a mikuni. It's just nice the EFI, when you put it in gear it adjust the load and don't pop and spit and back firer like a carb that's nice. It can't be that bad if Briggs is going to sell in 2015.

i just dont see how all are having so many problems with a carb. ive had a mikuni on my gtr since i first cranked it. ive changed the jet one time because cody swapped heads on it. my motor has set for 3 months and i went out earlier pumped the bubble, popped the throttle twice and it fired right up and idled just fine at 900 rpms. never had a problem in the teens cranking either. dont matter what load i have in the boat it never dies when put in gear. the a/f screw wont turn itself and the jets aint gonna change on their own. you set it right the first time you shouldnt have to touch it...i havent. having said all that i think i will try efi someday on my motor.

I don't recall all this bitching and complaining prior to the release of efi.

What y'all think this mother flicker don't know how to fine tune his carb? I'm not as good as AKA when it comes down setting a mikun I can set it to the T and it holds for about 2-3 trips and it starts acting up again. I just clean it last week the bitch was running great, went fishing came back to the landing amd I looked back the gas is poring out of the over flo. This never happen in awhile but i can't see it being any trash I have a water separator and a inline filter. About to break it down for the third time this month.

Water separator and filter are both before the fuel pump...what kinda shape is the fuel line in between the last filter and the carb in? Is it old as shit? Ethanol is the devil...

Take that top plate off. 4 Phillip screws. Look in there and loosen the allen screw enough to swing lock arm out of the way. Then you will need to take out that Phillip screw thats at an angle. It helps to take throttle cable out and manipulate it by hand to get the needle out. Take the needle out. You will notice 5 grooves at the top. The middle should have a clip in it. Move the clip up one notch. Then put it back together.

It may sound hard but its reall easy. It takes 5-10 minutes max.

Now we know why some need EFI
