Post Best Self Etching Primer?
I'm doing some touch up work and don't really care for the rattle can paint. Anyone have good success with a certain brand?

It's been a while, so there may be something better, but I've used PPG DPX171 and it worked fine. There were some limitations on what you could direct topcoat it with, so you'll want to check the datasheet.

I know you want to stay away from the rattle cans, but I've used SEM self-etching in the can it worked well.

For touch up I would get the Johnson/Evinrude zinc chromate primer in a spray can.

I say touch up lightly, it's touch up on the inside and I'm debating priming the bottom of the boat once I remove some old flexsteel. What do the boat manufacturers use?

What are you putting on the bottom once you get the steel flex off?

:D smart man!!! You don't want to use any primer for the bottom! The GG sticks better than etching primer. Once you get the SF off wipe it good with acetone and you're ready to go.
