HT is better in every way, except on your wallet. This stuff works fine. Just depends on how much cash you have to spend on flooring..

Post Re: Sears
Has anyone had any problems with this stuff flaking? Mine seems like it is drying out and has a layer of black dust which gets on everything. When I fish barefoot it gets all over, and when people sit it gets all over there shorts. Any ideas on how to stop this?

I've had issues with my HT doing that too. I just spray it down with a hose before we go out on the boat. Ol lady bitches that her ass turns grey if I don't..

I highly doubt there is anything you can do to it. How bad has it got?

I'll just have to spray it out before hand like the previous post stated. Its just annoying when that stuff gets all over.

Yes it is. I was surprised how quick my HT started doing it after being uncovered. It was just a fine dust. Is that was yours does or is it chunks?

Its fine dust, I was just curious to see if there was a way to stop it. When I had my ski boat the vinyl on the seats would get burnt to and I would apply some thick ass sunscreen on it and over time the sunspots and cracks would disappear.

The sun is brutal on anything, best to keep it covered when not in use if you can.

Well if you spray it with that sunscreen stuff, let us know how it does.

What about using something like an armor all before the sun gets it bad?

Hell I'm putting some in my little boat right now and I've got grey dusty shit all over my knees. This is a new brand that sears sells. Hopefully it's not going to do that everytime sweaty knees are on the deck, or my ol lady is in for trouble... Bahahaha

Weldwood contact cement is what I use. It seems to go through the heat and thaw cycle better.

I use the weldwood contact cement. It's a little more work than the spray adhesive but it's def. cheaper and I've never had an issue with it coming up.

I used the weldwood for my floors. Doing well for the most part. I have a couple bubbles in it, but I didn't let it get tacky before I put the turf down. Pretty sure that is where I went wrong.

On my deck and flotation pods I used the 3M 90 and it is doing great. No bubbles.

Same here on all my carpet. Be warned I lost a buddy from high school using this stuff. The vapors are explosive. They were using this on a house rehab putting flooring in. Vapors got to water heartier and whole house blew up. He lived another 3 days in icu with 3rd degree burns over 90% of hi body.

Works good though just be careful.

Did my 1648 Grizzly last weekend in it. Had it out on 98 degree days and floors stayed cool enough for no shoes to be needed.

Looks good. I had mine out this weekend too and it was nice. I had to throw a little water on it but it was WAY better than bare floor

Does the surface have to be smooth before installing? I've got a GT ordered with the standard non skid flooring, plan on doing the Sears stuff or HT once I get the boat. Will it stick to the non skid?

I had a no slip coating on my boat. I wiped it all down with acetone 2 coats on floor and mat and used a gallon of weld wood stuck like chuck.

If you use a fein multimaster type tool with a scraper blade would work wonders and cut down on the mess.If you're good with the tool you can scrape it off in strips right down to bare metal and would just need to clean up glue residue.
