 Steel flex filler
Anyone have the part numbers or exact names of both the filler as well as the slick steel flex products as well as any good sources to purchase this stuff from.

 Re: Steel flex filler
Fasco unlimited . The slick coat is the steel flex 2000 and the filler I've used is the " #7" but they have several products that you may be able to use. Jerry is the owner and a good guy. He won't sell you something you don't need.

 Re: Steel flex filler
I believe Jerry passed away a little while back but the family still owns the business.
The filler was called a fairing compound, maybe Fas-stone and like the man said, super slick 9x-2000.
If you haven't ever used it, surface prep! Mine flaked off in a couple spots where it got thin over a rib.

 Re: Steel flex filler
I didn't know Jerry passed away, he was a good man! His father who developed steel flex was also. Prayers for the family.

 Re: Steel flex filler
Good stuff. Just stay away from concrete and rip rap. I had some hook right below the transom. Used their stuff to fix it. No problems where I patched it. Probably only 1/2-3/4" in the thickest part. Seals the boat up good too. I went 6" up each side and 1' on transom. Wish it was slicker though. Still glad I did it. You can look at my build thread from 2-3 years ago on here.
Main thing is prep prep prep. Don't half ass the prep.

 Re: Steel flex filler
What exactly do you use this stuff for? Patching holes?

 Re: Steel flex filler
Hooks or dents in your bottom before applying steel flex. Not for holes.

 Re: Steel flex filler
So if I got a dent to fill, what would I buy and what is the process? Thanks.
