Post running a ducklite 7000 lumen off of size 24 battery
Any idea if it would be a problem running a ducklite 7000 lumen off of a size 24 battery? this is the same battery thats hooked to my GDSD 35hp. I would think it be ok since the battery is getting charged by the motor anyway?

What watt is the light? As far as the battery, is that an Everlast with 690 MCA? Is your 35hp a CDI or Non-CDI engine, they have different charging systems, if you dont know, what year is it?

I run a 10" Rigid Led Light (4300 Lumens I think) off the battery that starts my motor My motor doesnt charge the battery at idle so when using the light and setting decoys I've had it run down the battery enough to where It wouldn't turn the motor when i was done hunting. Luckily I have a 23 with a recoil start just in case. I am also running a smaller marine starting battery. You should be Ok, Do you have a CDI motor I believe it has a better charging system.

you mean batteries are not lumen rated? lol

that is the main reason I run multiple batteries. I always separate out the headlights and spotlight to their own battery. The rest goes on the main battery. also run two main kill switches for the batteries so I know for sure there is no draw when its trailered

You need to find out how many amps your light is pulling then how many amps your generator is generating. Long and short LED work lamps draw significant amps 4-6 amps. Generators at idle won't keep up sometimes.

Lets just assume the light is around 100 watts, divide that by 12 volts will give you 8.3 amps. If your battery says 690 on the side, that's 690 amps per hour it can provide at 100% charge. Since battery's loose their output as they drain, be safe and take half that 690, now we're at 345 amps per hour divided by the 8.3 amps the light will use and you can technically run that light for 41.5 hours without charging it...

Depends on which charging system your motor has on how long you can go from there... idle around for a weekend and you may need to top it back off with a charger.

The Briggs Vanguard has the charging system and it being a newer one, you have the CDI which is the better charging system. If it's the one from SeeLite, you'll be fine. Looks like there's 8 bulbs in each light at worst case, probably 5watt so you're probably at 80 watts total...
