 New GTail
Picked up the new rig a week ago Friday. Fished the marsh 2 wknds now and we're really pleased with the setup. Details: 18x54, trolling motor, LED spotlights, CC w/ Lowrance HDI-7, brushed blind, 10" catwalks, rear enclosed deck, hydro turf, spud poles, and full handrails from front to back. had them install those flat plate brackets under the catwalks so I could attach rod holders on both sides...works well and keeps floor clean. So far speeds are around 24mph with everything listed above as well as fishing gear, 72qt ice chest with ice and fish, 2 batteries and 2 guys (265 and 185). Hit 25mph with one guy (265). We're going to pull the blind off in a few weeks after teal season to get the full effect of the catwalks. Love the rig so far...was pretty sweet cruising thru the marsh at 5:45am with the standard mapping chip showing the cuts and bayous. Hell of an upgrade from the go-devil boat with LT!!!

 Re: New GTail
Very nice. I'm pretty much running the same boat, picked it up a couple of months ago, 1860 though with stage 1. Has 17hrs on it and I run 27 consistently. I'll hit 28 by my self and no gear.

 Re: New GTail
Very nice cleon. Looks very similar...all black is sweet! Based on what I've read here our speeds seem right. We may get a little work done down the road but we'll keep it simple. I'm good with 25 after running in the low to mid teens with our LT rig.
Got some redfish blood on it the last few wknds. I'm ready to put some ducks in it this winter!
Thx for the compliments.

 Re: New GTail
BLM, do you find the CC gets in the way once the blind is up? I'm wanting a CC also, but with a popup blind it seems it would be a PITA to go from back to front.

 Re: New GTail
Blind comes right up to the grab bar on the console so you won't be walking past it. We've only had it up once, so I don't have a good feel for it yet, but I guess you could go down and under if you had to get to the front while the blind is up. There's plenty of room for 2 and maybe 3 in front of the console...and you can hunt 1 behind it with somewhat limited range. For us it's a slam dunk to have the console since we'll fish out of it more than we'll hunt. I'm really liking the electric shift when motoring around the dock during load and unload. It's also very nice to be standing at the console for a better vantage point than back in the corner holding the tiller handle. So far we're loving it...had some redfish in it already and can't wait to kill some ducks with it.
Thx again for the compliments. She's going to get plenty of use.

Ours took right at 12 weeks and we ordered it first week of June . Waiting isn't fun, but worth it.

 Re: New GTail
I was told my boat would be ready on Oct 24th, I emailed Bubba last Thursday to see if everything was still on schedule, or if it was possible it would be completed early as I have 3 buddies that are going with me to pick it up and they need as much time as possible to ask off work. His reply was call me... knew then something wasn't right. I called and he proceeded to tell me that the boat was finished and painted but wasn't built how I wanted. I revised the order a couple weeks after ordering it changing the options, well apparently it was built with some of the options I initially added and with some of the options on my revision. Well he made it right and I'm alright with what I will be getting and he also said that the pick up date would change, said that I would be getting it sooner and he would call me back to let me know when that would be after he talked to his shop foreman. This was Thursday, I've since sent 2 emails one last Friday and one Monday asking him when the pickup date is but have not gotten a response. I also called him yesterday about 4:30 and had to leave a message with the receptionist. Haven't heard back from him yet. I'll give him a little bit before I try him back because I know he's probably swamped, however he could simply reply to one of my emails letting me know if he has talked to the foreman or not about the delivery date. At least I would know something.

 Re: New GTail
You were told Oct 24, after a mix up on build, build being corrected, and a sooner pick-up date than you were originally given. Why are you venting? You're still a month out.

 Re: New GTail
Bubba and GT will do that, ignore emails and calls, etc. People say they are busy, blah blah, but I want replies to simple questions when I'm dropping thousands on their product. I'll probably take crap for saying that but I have first hand experience. I had a mess with my motor order last year. Bubba and GT wouldn't give me any info. Finally Rob (team camo) helped me out and got it straight.

Yep, msm is correct.
We had some difficulties getting in touch with them several times to confirm things. Everything turned out fine and I just chalked it to being a small family run type business that is doing all they know how to do to keep up with their success.

Last I heard, they are working on a CRM system that will improve response times.

 Re: New GTail
I will fab up a bolt on torque tab if need be when my new boat is ready. I have liittle torque with my new motor on my old boat. It really only bothers me when sitting for long runs.
