Post help please...
I have a brand new 1854 hd and a tall transom 55mag. My boat is porpsing bad when I run it by myself. The fastest I have had it was 31mph with me and one other hunting buddy and a teal hunting load. I have another buddy that is running the same set up and he has a short out drive and is plowing pretty bad. We asked around and found that our transoms are pose to be around 19 1/2 instead of 21 1/4. anyone have any thoughts on this? would it help our boats to cut the transom to 19 1/2? Thanks for all your help.

How are you measuring your transom? Should measure straight up, not on the angle which will add length. Also what kind of wrought up front?

Talk to chad I think he mentioned he's been working on different transom setups to get the best performance out of the boat and motor. He won't leave you hanging hell go out of his way to work with you.

Tried to get ahold of him for a week now. Don't know what to do and I'd like to get it done before my season starts.

My prodigy is set at 20 1/4 with no issues, now off you measure with the angle on the transom it comes out to 21 1/4. Also my hull would start to porpoise, but that simply because at high speeds, there was so little boat in water. Redistribution of weight fixed that issue

Brad I think 31 ain't to bad, was that shallow water? Seems like you might get another mph out of her, but might just be a heavy hull and not get any faster, nice rig for sure allot of metal to move around

I agree . thanks buddy. It was deep water but was just curious if I was leaving anything on the table and if it would help with the empty weight porpus.

I tend to leave a cooler and all my misc. In front hatch to keep mine down, or it'll porpoise over 31

I would not cut it down.... I would put a bead on the bottom.. I will
Call u monday.. I been out of pocket w a damn kidney stone.

I have friends etc w all other makes and models and when I get over 30 mph w light loads in a mud boat porpoising is not uncommon... There r ways to get at it tho.

What boat does your buddy have that's plowing? 31 doesn't sound bad for your boat
