 New 1848 Alumitec
Got the call a few weeks ago that the new boat was ready. Made the drive up to Orlando to pick it up and get started with the Gator Glide, Hydro Turf, wiring and lights. Pretty basic layout. Extended deck and a removable gun box.

 Re: New 1848 Alumitec
Got the boat flipped over and in the garage for Gator Glide. I rolled on 5 coats of base and 4 coats of Gator Glide. The kids helped. Hind site being 20/20, I should of painted it first.

 Re: New 1848 Alumitec
Let me know how this runs! I just put a deposit on an 1844 sportsmans fab hull Friday. I'll be pushing it with my 35 swomp LS.

 Re: New 1848 Alumitec
Great hull! Are those two longitudinal runners standard? I'm guessing they will help with stability and turning, and you won't slide like complete flat bottom? Plenty of hunting/ fishing room! I use those Cabelas bird bucket seats, that swivel and have a cooler. dry storage box underneath. That turf is great- mine is still holding up well after three seasons. Do you know the approximate dry hull weight? I read your review, excellent numbers!

 Re: New 1848 Alumitec
Ive seen a couple of these boats without the runners but i think they were older boats like '04.
The runners make them turn on a dime 95% of the time but you can still spin out on super sharp, fast turns.

Sucks they didn't answer my email. Why don't they put something about their mud boats on their website?

 Re: New 1848 Alumitec
Ibfishin, that's an awesome rig you have and thanks again for the Alumitec info. Thanks g fowl. Dave, definitely noticed the Gator Glide in the salad. Still gotta get used to launching the boat with that stuff. Once the winch strap came off, it only took a slight shove to get it in the water. I'm down for a ride wherever. I had a great time running the new rig and would like to see some of the other Fl mud boats.

 Re: New 1848 Alumitec
The Alumitechs and Hammond hulls remind me of the old lapstrake style Hewes Redfishers and Bonefishers. Cool.

 Re: New 1848 Alumitec
I have football then a date in palm beach with the wife. Then I have young guns at Quail Creek on sunday. The following weekend a bunch of us and our wives are doing a marsh run from okee tantie to rolands, spending the night and coming back that sunday.

 Re: New 1848 Alumitec
The guy I know who had the Hammond mud hull built says his boat is 14.5' x 52" wide with a 35 MudBuddy. Interested to see how it runs being that short. Nice looking boat though.
