GatorTrax 1754w/hunt deck power by Gator tail
We'll I picked up my new Gatortrax boat Wednesday and put my new GT motor on it. I added a few mods to the motor and ran it today. I need to reset the valve lash still and do a plug check. But here is what I ran. I would like to compare the specs to other rigs so I can tell if I'm going the right direction.
All test was done on slick water. 8ft deep. 1. 3 blade GT prop 8 pitch 4800 at 32mph GPS 2. 2 blade 12 3/4 dia. 11pitch 4720 @ 31mph
Hole shot was awesome with the 3 blade and was very smooth.
2 blade had good hole shot but noticed a lot more vibration.
Load. 3 batteries, 12gallons of gas 1 person.
Gator trax boat 1754 plus hunt deck. 18'
This is the first time I have tried gtrax and gtail anyone else have any performance on this hull and motor. Here are some picsImageUploadedByTapatalk1409345558.903786.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1409345595.136624.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1409345628.422571.jpg

Your moving pretty good. Is that a fuel pump and filter? I see the carbs what other mods? I running the exact same boat with a lot less in it with carb heads and exhaust.
Empty one battery and six gallons of gas 30 mph 4350 rpms

I believe once you get a little wear on that 2 blade your RPMs will go up a bit as well as your speed. I have a prodrive but from my experience with a GTR the 3 blade will have more bottom end and the 2 blade should have more top end...

Is your motor sitting off the transom? Nice looking rig

Here's an update. Been playing with props for a few weeks. So far I'm getting a solid 35 out of a 3 blade. We repitched it to a 12 and removed the double cup. It carries a load the same speed. Rpm are 5000 and can trim to 5160. I'm working on another prop that has 14 pitch and will let you know how it doesImageUploadedByTapatalk1413070118.427125.jpg

I have the exact same boat and a pure stock GTR35 and you're getting really good speeds. I got around 27 mph when I first GPS'd it with 7 gal gas and my son and blind. I might be a little better now after changing to top hole and the motor is broken in, but not what you're getting.

Re: GatorTrax 1754w/hunt deck power by Gator tail
I do have some mods added. I went all out on the motor. I was hoping to see 38-40. But I don't think I'm going to get there. I have one more prop that I'm working on so we will see. I don't know what my motor is putting out in hp. But it seams really strong. I have twin carbs, bps cam, heads, rocker rollers/ heavy push rods. Billet rods and pistons. Marshmallow double barrel. I guess 35-36 ain't bad. At 4650 I am cursing at 33mph.
