 Levee boat rollers
Do any of you have something that helps you roll your boat over a levee that's portable? I have a levee I need to jump that's a couple feet off the waters surface with gravel on top that I'd rather not scrape my boat on. I was thinking about just bringing some 2-3" pipes and doing what the Egyptians did but I'd rather make something easier to use if any of you have a system I could go off of.

 Re: Levee boat rollers
I have used PVC rollers before with a winch. It doesn't work as good as you might think because the PVC doesn't roll usually instead it gets stuck in the mud or just don't roll. We used 10-12 6' pieces and basically winched the boat across them. Doing this let us get across a narrow levee. It worked just not great!

 Re: Levee boat rollers
I was thinking about using some 2x6s with a raised bar to put the PVC on. Maybe 3 or 4 of them

Gator glide the PVC pipes. Then it won't matter if they fail to roll.

 Re: Levee boat rollers
Was just thinking, I wonder how those Teflon trailer bunk slides would work on some boards. Already have gator glide on my boat, would probably work good

 Re: Levee boat rollers
Just use 2 pvc pipes the length of the boat. Run them vertically like trailer runners to slide on. Just make sure the start of them are well in the water. You may need to use 4 pipes if you have to go a long way. With gator glide on the bottom you should be fine. I know people that use pvc pipes on their trailer runners instead of the carpet.
