Can you put a prodrive on a gatortrax huntdeck without ending up with smashed fingers? I was pondering a prodrive but wasn't sure it could be done

Yes it can be done.

Yes it will work. As buddy of mine has one. He just extended his handle but he ran it for a while with original handle

I've got one - awesome combo. Only downside is having the momentary and trim so far back, but you can remote locate those to your half box seat like I did - no problem.

Is there a reason that pro drive doesn't have a floating handle?

I think it has to do with the throttle linkage.

But it's not been a real issue for me at least. The bastard is clipping a stump with the prop and not the skeg no matter the brand they will all sling sideways.

Don't get the extension. Have pd build a longer one piece tiller handle. Then slide the control box up or relocate to the grab bar.

I don't mind it not being a floating handle bc the motor pops up real easy when you hit stuff

Do yourself a favor and contact a buddy with a PD and go in some thick SCHIT with it. Unless you've driven one, you're in the dark like I was.

I ran my 36 PD on a GatorTrax hunt deck hull I used to own. I extended the tiller and moved the control box closer on the handle. Worked fine. Never mashed my hand.
