good way to pick up dekes with a LT?
Any body figured out a good way to do it? Its getting where mine and most of my hunting buddies schedules don't mesh alot, and i find myself having to hunt on my own some. I've got a few spots that are deep water...so those will take some finagling

my dad uses a big telescoping pole. think it might have been a pole for a rolling paintbrush or somethin. made a hook for the end of it out of a coat hanger I believe. damn thing is about 12 feet long, it helps out a lot in deep water. just grab the neck of the decoy or the line. just putt into the middle of em, grab as many as you can, tie em all up, and make another pass.
I don't hunt deep water, so we walk around and pick ours up.

If I am going to have to make more than a couple of passes or the wind is up I use my trolling motor or a paddle.

ive always just walked around and picked up my dec's. I've never picked up decs in water deeper than stomach tho. but the extending pole with a paint roller end sounds like a winner.

They sell a decoy retriever pole I just use my push pole or if it's windy I just drive up wind and grab all the decoys I can on each pass

Just go upwind and drift through 'em, grab as many as you can, rinse and repeat. It's a pain in the ass in a longtail, more so cause of no neutral, I already chewed up a brand new GHG pro-grade pintail on his first day, cause even though the prop was outta the water it wasn't high enough.

Ya'll guys are to high tech for me- I just grab the rod and reel and cast for em, just pay attention where the current is, works pretty good since I hunt alot alone - oh try not to let the lure or whatever run to deep - if you hunt with vegatation - just like fishing.

Avery telescopic retreiving pole.... cabela's etc...
Get up wind drift in, and grab what you can and use the pole for the others..
make take a few passes to get em all....
-you can also get a golf ball retreiver if you can get ur hands on one cheap and remove ball basket and just add a decent size hook to end of it...

If you have the Avery telescoping push pole, you can fish for em with that or buy one of their Decoy retrievers. Its a pain, but at least noone has to watch ya do it
