So, I built a 13hp Longtail couple years back. Dumped some decent money into the Honda clone motor, took it out yesterday and I blew out the upper shaft seal again. I'm wanting to get a backwater glider kit. Would I gain something by getting a full frame kit? Instead of the glider?

I have the motor on a 12ft vhull. I know not the right hull. I plan on getting on a 1436 jon boat at least, maybe a 1636? Any better options? I run open river to some shallow channels. Not much mud.

Will they sell a full frame kit? They, meaning backwater.

I called Backwater today and talked with Arlon. They do offer a full frame kit. It will handle 13hp-23hp engine. Prop would be the only change. My plan is to upgrade to a 16ft boat. After talking with Arlon, I'm going to look for something with at least a 42" bottom for stability. Going to pull the trigger on the frame kit after the new year.

Go devil hulls are very hard to come by here in southern idaho. I'd rather not fork out a bunch for shipping......
